Deanna is a painter and a lover of life, animals and nature. She also believes in the power of healing through creative expression.

The peaceful beauty of her natural surroundings is a constant source of inspiration and nourishment for Deanna’s creative spirit. She finds art-making to be one of the most powerful ways to connect with her innermost essence, while at the same time exploring her authentic voice. She enjoys creating intuitively and works with a range of different media including acrylic paint and inks, collage and pencil. Deanna conveys her personal life experience and all its idiosyncrasies in a language of colour and form with tiny pencil details.

“Creativity is a place of endless possibility, a safe haven allowing escape from reality. Painting is a soulful place of freedom where I can explore my true, authentic self. It is an intuitive process, a leap of faith, a letting go and a trust in the process. Painting involves expressing whatever I’m feeling in that particular moment through gestures, mark-making; concealing and revealing through multiple layers of paint until a story begins to take shape and reveal itself to me. There is a real sense of accomplishment in a finished painting, of another discovery made and another chapter completed."
