Karen Reid

Karen an artist who works with multiple mediums - acrylic, oil and collage. She has recently discovered the phenomenal beauty and intricacies of flowers and have transitioned from painting expressive abstracts to predominantly florals.

She loves the unstructured and carefree way in which flowers grow naturally and tries to capture this in her work. She also enjoys creating quirky and fun compositions of abstract florals.

Experimenting is key for her and this promotes discovery rather than repetition, therefore her artwork is always evolving. This results in a kaleidoscope of bold, vivid colours and different styles.

She paints from her home studio on the south coast of Wellington.
